“I find my inspiration in the stones and unusual materials, both ancient and modern, that I use to fabricate pendants, earrings, bracelets, rings and belt buckles. I welcome asymmetry, surface texture and spontaneity. ”
Jeannine Rosenberg is a lifelong learner, traveler, maker & collector. She has honed her silver smithing skills over the years using unusual materials, both ancient and modern, natural and manmade.
Using skill, torch, saw, & imagination, Jeannine fabricates one-of-a-kind pendants, earrings, bracelets, rings and belt buckles. Silver, Fordite, Leland Blue, antique buttons, beads, fossils and crystals all find a home in her organically inspired, distinctive pieces of jewelry. Rather than symmetrical, polished and perfect, Rosenberg celebrates asymmetry, surface texture and even accidents. Spontaneity with the torch is a hallmark as is her use of unconventional fabrication techniques that distinguish her work from others.
Jeannine has taken classes in Ontario, California, New Mexico & Colorado. These experiences have contributed to a unique style that makes her work both recognizable and collectable. She has travelled extensively in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and Belize and her distinctive jewelry is clearly influenced by the ancient geology & colourful cultures of these regions.
Jeannine also relishes the challenges presented by custom work as well as offering one-on-one jewelry classes in her Goodwood, Ontario studio space. Her jewelry can be purchased at Dragonfly Arts on Broadway in Orangeville and the Scugog Art Space in Port Perry. Studio Tours include the Lake Scugog Studio Tour, 1st weekend in May and the Uxbridge Studio Tour, 3rd weekend in September.
