Watercolour artist, Sandra MacPherson, “I have been drawn to the painting process for over 30 years. Inspired by A.J. Casson, Andrew Wyeth, Mary Pratt, Helen McNicoll, and the Group of Seven, among others, I have taken courses at OCAD and participated in a variety of workshops and classes with Canadian artists. My portfolio of watercolour and acrylic paintings includes landscapes and waterscapes, buildings, floral, still life, and figurative works. I love the tangible, lasting result of a successfully completed painting. Recently I have been seeking new challenges by experimenting with various water-based mediums, which are providing new growth for me as an artist. Working in both watercolour and acrylic allows for contrasts, both in process and in style. The work seeks to express the beauty in the world with themes of peace, history, community, and preservation. Spending time at the lake provides me a chance to rest and re-energize, away from busy daily routines.
For more information about my work, occasional workshops, or commissions, please see my website.”
