Art is my happy place. Through my art I reveal a fusion of my observations and experiences. Informed by my travels and love of nature, I explore the layers, the patterns, and perfect details of our natural world. I allow a painting to evolve. It may begin with a plan but often there is no plan. I love to play with colour and texture and the feeling of being free to create my own story.

I am a native of Ontario and lived my entire life amidst breathtaking landscapes in different parts of the province and travelled across Canada, more than once!
My art journey began later in life after a varied and fulfilling career in the Health Sciences. I’ve always had a passion for art and design which led me to starting my own Interior Design business, which I loved for many years. During that time, I attended several courses at the Haliburton School of Art and Design. Over the years I have also attended art workshops in France, Italy and Spain with international artists and many workshops, locally, with fine Canadian artists.
I have enjoyed showing my art at solo exhibitions annually 2013-2019 in Unionville at the Kathleen McKay Art Centre, the Flato Markham Theatre in 2018, the Kent-Farndale Gallery 2024, as well as acceptance in the Station Gallery juried show in Whitby. I am honoured to have my work in private collections in Canada, the U.S.A., Mexico and Taiwan.
I am a member of the Port Perry Artists’ Association (PPAA) and the Scugog Council for the Arts. I participate in annual PPAA group shows and local venues. I currently reside in Blackstock in a lovely century stone farmhouse and feel fortunate to live within this rural canvas.
My artwork is somewhat eclectic including abstract, impressionist and representational elements. I like to experiment, and I enjoy creating layers that add depth and a little mystery to a painting. I find the constantly changing shadows and light, misty layers in the landscape, and textures in nature challenging and inspiring. I have travelled extensively and visited many fascinating places. So many potential paintings!
Ultimately if my art speaks to someone, regardless of the reason, it makes me happy.
