Gordon Reidt

Stone Sculptor

SITE # 4
St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Port Perry with Karen Hunter, Lori Korkola & Delvea Tuff

My main source of inspiration is a love of nature that has been cultivated over a lifetime.

Gordon began carving stone in 2005 with sculptor Fred Hummel. After studying in a group setting for about 18 months, Gordon began to branch out on his own.
Over the next few years, Gordon took Advanced Sculpture Classes at the Haliburton School for the Arts, attended Workshops with Zimbabwe Shona artists through the Zimart Program, and In 2014, attended a Jade carving workshop in British Columbia with a renowned jade sculptor Deborah Wilson.
Gordon shows his work through local Studio Tours including the Uxbridge Studio Tour, Scugog Studio Tour, Stouffville Studio Tour and Victoria County Studio Tour. Other venues include the Purple Turtle Arts Festival and private art shows in Kingston, Lindsay and Bobcageon.
For the past 15 years, Gordon’s artistic education continues through interaction with other sculptors and mentoring interested people in the art of sculpture carving.
Gordon’s work can be found across Canada, United States, Israel, England and Australia.
