My Canvas might range in size from 6 x 6 to full wall murals, my medium of choice is the highly detailed pencil/pastel drawing and acrylics. I love to create artwork depicting animals and birds in their natural habitat, however, my subject of choice is the horse. I have a deep love and respect for horses and enjoy creating artwork that shows their beauty and kindness. If I’m doing a commissioned piece, no matter what the subject, I like to feel that I can somehow evoke the love that the person originally felt for that subject.
I am based in the rolling country hills of Kawartha Lakes, Ontario.
While her “canvas” might range in size from huge full wall murals to duck decoys, her medium of choice is the highly detailed pencil/pastel drawing and acrylics. The subject can certainly vary as well. Del’s portraits have captured a child or a beloved animal, a couple just before exchanging vows, or the still, stolid representation of an abandoned country barn. No matter the subject, they all reflect her ability to find intimacy and emotion in the smallest details. “If I’m doing a commissioned piece,” she explains, “no matter what the subject, I like to feel that I can somehow evoke the love that the person originally felt for that subject.” Del’s work is able to magnificently capture a moment’s feelings and ensure that they will last forever. We invite you to see your favorite memories through her eyes.
